Starting this Thursday, October 29, KuCoin is suspending all services and products for users residing in Russia and Belarus. The platform attributed the decision to the need to comply with applicable international legal and regulatory frameworks, establishing an orderly timeline through personalized notifications for affected clients to close positions and completely withdraw their funds.

This withdrawal deepens the retreat of major centralized trading venues from jurisdictions under Western sanctions. Other platforms such as MEXC and Bitget have also suspended their services, against a backdrop of increasing scrutiny from European and U.S. regulators aimed at preventing the evasion of economic sanctions and enforcing anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines.

Affected customers must manage their withdrawals within the stipulated individual deadlines to avoid permanent account freezes . Meanwhile, the tightening cross-border regulatory net continues to accelerate the fragmentation of global liquidity, pushing the region’s trading volume toward regulated local alternatives or decentralized channels.
