These American Eagle jeans are the only ones I’ve worn routinely since giving birth. They’re now on sale at up to $34 off.

I first discovered American Eagle’s Dreamy Drape Jeans when I was freshly postpartum. My collection of denim at the time didn’t fit, and the typically rigid fabric felt so uncomfortable against my tender belly, yet I found myself still wanting to feel somewhat put-together amongst the endless days of caretaking (and very little sleep).

The most comfortable jeans I own are now on sale for as low as $25 in certain sizes and colorways, but the most well-stocked pairs are each about $48 . These jeans are so good I’ve been tempted not to write about them… but I was never one to gatekeep.

I remember feeling so vulnerable trying on the Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans so soon after giving birth, but instantly, I felt infinitely more confident in them — not to mention, the fabric felt butter-soft and the laidback silhouette made them even more comfy than my skin-tight leggings. You read that right.

Cut to nearly two years postpartum, and more than a few sizes down from my maternity jeans , I’ve now since stocked up on three different colorways in my current size: Black , Medium Bright Indigo , and another pair of my beloved light wash Salty Air jeans. I’ve also lit up my girl mom group chat, all but forcing them to add them to cart (with some luck, might I add).

I love American Eagle’s Dreamy Drape jeans so much that I now own three different pairs.

The denim fabric is soft, comfy, and with a whole lot of stretch. And because of the looser silhouette of this Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans , slipping into these jeans makes me feel ready to take on a busy day (yet still feel low-key enough to lounge in once the baby is asleep). Each morning, I can’t help but reach for whichever pair is freshly washed.

The more casual silhouette is perfect for everyday, yet still can be dressed up with some heels. Most recently, my husband and I had a rare date night, and I decided to dust off my oversized postpartum jeans for a cute low-rise moment. Paired with a corset and some heels, I felt chic enough for a night out, yet still impossibly comfortable during a dinner and walking through the city.

Their jeans come in five different lengths: X Short, Short, Regular, Long, and X Long. And as someone who stands at exactly five feet tall? The Short length is truly perfection (I love not spending extra cash getting my AE jeans tailored). Major win in my opinion. There’s also a Curve pair with a 13-inch waist-to-hip measurement compared to the regular 10-inch size.

The bottom line

If I’m being completely honest, the American Eagle Dreamy Drape Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans are worth every penny — but why not save 30% off while you can? I promise they’re sure to be a tried-and-true pair, whether you’re a new mom or not (and you may find yourself donating the rest of your denim collection, like I did, once you try them on).
