Wormhole Adds $HYPE Support on Solana, Base, and Unichain

Wormhole now lets users hold and trade Hyperliquid’s $HYPE on Solana, Base, and Unichain. The cross-chain messaging protocol said the asset can move across those networks. That gives traders more places to access HYPE, though the practical effect will depend on how venues list and support it.

What the support means

For users, the change may reduce the need to rely on a single chain when managing HYPE. It also opens the asset to applications built on Solana, Base, and Unichain. Wormhole’s role is to pass messages and asset data between networks. It does not create liquidity by itself. Market makers and exchanges still have to provide the trading depth.

At the time of writing, market data showed no recorded trading volume for HYPE. That does not tell us much on its own. Newly supported assets often take time to appear in trackers or to attract active trading. I think the more useful signal will be whether wallets, exchanges, and DeFi apps begin to list the asset and route orders through these chains.

Why chains are watching

Cross-chain support for native assets has become a common way to widen access. For Wormhole, adding HYPE fits its broader push to connect assets across networks. For Hyperliquid, it may bring attention from users who prefer Solana or Base. For traders, it adds another set of routes to monitor. Each route can carry different fees, settlement times, and liquidity conditions.

There are risks to keep in mind. Cross-chain systems add smart contract and bridge risk. Users should check which contracts and routes they are using. A token being available on several chains does not guarantee deep markets or tight spreads. It also does not remove the need for due diligence.

What to watch next

The next step is adoption. Watch for exchange listings, wallet support, and pool activity on Solana, Base, and Unichain. If those pieces arrive, HYPE could see more trading volume. If not, the support remains mostly technical. Either way, the announcement shows that projects are still working to make assets usable across more than one network. That trend matters for traders who move between chains, though it will not solve every liquidity problem overnight.

This is not financial advice. Readers should do their own research.
