TL;DR

Michael Saylor said Strategy could create up to $30 billion in digital credit capacity without another common-stock raise or additional Bitcoin appreciation.

Phong Le said preferred securities such as STRC could become the main financing route for future Bitcoin purchases, with some proceeds supporting dollar reserves.

The $30 billion figure represents potential capacity, not committed fundraising, while Strategy currently holds 848,517 BTC and continues balancing accumulation with preferred-security obligations.

Michael Saylor said Strategy could create as much as $30 billion in digital credit capacity to support future Bitcoin purchases , without requiring another common-stock raise or further appreciation in BTC. During the company’s third-quarter earnings call , the executive chairman described a range of $10 billion, $20 billion and $30 billion that could be generated from the existing balance sheet. The figure represents potential financing capacity, not an announced fundraising target or cash already available for immediate deployment into Bitcoin .

Preferred Shares Become Strategy’s Main Bitcoin Financing Tool

Strategy’s financing model increasingly centers on preferred securities such as STRC. CEO Phong Le said issuing digital credit is expected to become the primary method for acquiring additional Bitcoin , shifting emphasis away from relying mainly on convertible debt or repeated common-equity issuance. He explained that if STRC raised $1 billion to $2 billion during a month, part of those proceeds could be allocated to dollar reserves while the remainder could fund Bitcoin purchases.

The approach builds on the company’s broader capital structure, where Bitcoin, dollar liquidity, debt, common equity and preferred securities serve different functions. Saylor’s digital-credit framework is designed to convert balance-sheet strength into income-oriented preferred instruments while preserving Bitcoin exposure. That structure has previously been detailed through Strategy’s Bitcoin, debt and preferred-stock framework , with STRC positioned as digital credit rather than direct ownership of Bitcoin itself.

Strategy entered the quarter-end discussion with 848,517 BTC as of October 25, representing 26% year-to-date growth in its holdings. The company’s existing Bitcoin treasury provides the capital base behind Saylor’s estimate of additional credit capacity , while its third-quarter results included $19.53 billion in net income, largely reflecting a $20.91 billion gain in digital assets. Those figures were also central to Strategy’s latest quarterly results .

The proposed financing path does not mean every dollar raised through preferred securities would automatically purchase BTC. Management intends to balance Bitcoin accumulation with dollar reserves and obligations attached to its preferred instruments , making capital allocation dependent on financing conditions and liquidity needs. Strategy recently demonstrated that flexibility when it prioritized a $204.9 million STRC repurchase over new Bitcoin purchases . Saylor’s $30 billion figure therefore describes how far the digital-credit model could potentially scale, rather than a committed acquisition program. Future Bitcoin purchases would still depend on actual issuance, investor demand and management’s allocation decisions under market conditions.
