US Wall Street bank Citi Group made a fresh bold prediction on Bitcoin’s price , now convinced that the asset is set to reach $113,000 before 2027. The $1.2 trillion bank believes the flagship cryptocurrency will rise to $113,000 before the end of the year.
Citi turns bullish on Bitcoin
Today, October 1, Citi amended its 12-month Bitcoin price projection from $82,000 to $113,000, a significant shift in its market outlook earlier this year. The latest revision signals the institution’s renewed confidence in the Bitcoin market, supported by positive macroeconomic forces and ETF inflows expected through this year and into 2027.
In January, the bank predicted a price target of $143,000 within the next 12 months. In July, it cut its target from $112,000 to $82,000 when the CLARITY Act lost its momentum in the Senate. During that time, the institution decreased its target, saying that the asset could drop from $112,000 to $82,000 due to negative developments, including consistent ETF outflows, the US’s delayed regulation formulation, and a wider stagnant market.
The latest forecast, issued today, shows that the bank has turned bullish on Bitcoin, believing that the asset is preparing to extend its ongoing recovery in the fourth quarter. While the asset closed Q3 around $82,000, Citi believes the virtual currency is gearing up for a momentum Q4 rally and could reach $113,000 before 2027. The bank expects institutional capital to soon surge into digital assets, suggesting BTC is entering its next bull-run phase.
BTC to reach $181k in the next 12 months
The Wall Street banking giant expects crypto capital inflows to rise to $5 billion within the next 12 months, driven by the broader market recovery. As a result, the bank believes that Bitcoin’s value could hit $181,000 in the coming 12 months. This price forecast reflects its strong belief that traditional financial institutions are increasingly channeling capital onchain.
Citi’s analysts said Bitcoin is attracting significantly more institutional customers amid economic uncertainty. With heightened institutional demand, major participants like corporate treasuries, pension funds, hedge funds, and others are showing stronger enthusiasm for BTC as a long-term investment.
Citi is convinced that if this momentum continues, BTC could begin a new chapter of adoption, where it’s not only widely used for trading but also as a reserve asset. This transition could push its value to unprecedented heights, with $181,000 a realistic target over the next 12 months.
